Participate in activities

The InterLenguis school organizes extra-academic activities for its students with which they can complete their Spanish courses and get the most out of their stay in Spain. All activities take place in the afternoon, except for excursions that can last between one and five days with various destinations, towns and Spanish cities.

InterLenguis offers a variety of activities so you can choose the ones that best suit your tastes and preferences. You can choose between cultural, leisure, gastronomic activities, sports, workshops, trips… All of them are imparted by Spanish native speaker, it is a great opportunity for reinforcing the Spanish classes in an enjoyable, dynamic and interactive way.

Furthermore, the majority of the activities are visual which allow the participation of the students from all levels.

Cultural activities

A country is not only characterized by its language but by its history, culture and the famous people who have lived in it. InterLenguis has various activities chosen by the student to delve deeper into all the fundamental aspects of the country and specifically Spain.

In Spain there is a high number of museums and historic buildings that can be visited freely or with a very low cost. In addition, it has a wide range of shows: cinema, theatre, concerts, exhibitions and many more activities to attend accompanied by your InterLenguis classmates and teachers.

City walk

A guide accompanies the group during the visit explaining secrets and stories hidden behind the city.

Guided visits take place weekly since is an activity loved by all the students and become fascinated by discovering every corner of the city through a fantastic trip along its cobblestone pavements.

During this activity, we visit the most emblematic places of the historic quarter of the city.

Visit to expositions and museums

Spain is a country rich in monuments and historic buildings.

InterLenguis offers you to visit a museum, a monument or a specific exhibition.

Theater and microtheater

Microtheaters are shorter performances than common theater plays, in which characters and spectators interact with each other in a reduced and intimate area.

InterLenguis weekly accompanies its students, if they wish, to enter the world of microtheater and view a play.

Microtheater is suitable for all levels since it has short duration and non-verbal content and gestures that allow even the beginners to comprehend and enjoy those funny theatrical plays.

Concerts

Cities like Salamanca have a university, youth atmosphere with a great variety of concert halls or theaters with a wide agenda of music concerts of varied styles.

In Spain always will be a cultural plan adapted to your tastes and music styles. Attending to a concert is a enjoyable way of learning Spanish.

Conferences

InterLenguis offers talks on a wide variety of topics, always in relation to the country’s culture so that you can delve deeper into fundamental aspects of Spain.

The topics are very diverse. Students can let the teacher know in advance if they wish to attend to any specific conference of their interests.

Teachers make those conferences pleasant thanks to visual support that facilitate the beginners’ comprehension. They are dynamic and interactive talks.

Cinema session

At InterLenguis we have a classroom with a projector where we show Spanish films weekly, most of them subtitled to facilitate students’ understanding.

All films are Spanish classics that caused great acceptance by the audience.

In this way, you will learn about the film culture of our country.

Linguistic Exchanges

The most complicated thing about a language is having great conversational fluency, which is why InterLenguis offers linguistic exchanges to be able to practice different languages, including Spanish, with native speakers.

Those exchanges are carried in two languages, Spanish and a foreign language, generally English. Those exchanges last 10 minutes for each couple approximately, the first half they talk in a language and the second half in the other language. Its brief duration allows to talk with different couples and in this way, get to know people and make friends practicing and learning a new language.

Leisure and sports

Coming to study in Spain is a unique experience, which is why at InterLenguis we want our students to get the most out of their stay by doing different leisure activities or sports. In these activities you will enjoy meeting new friends and discover typical aspects of the Hispanic world.

You will feel like a sportive star beating your teachers in the different football championships, you will enjoy singing typical Spanish songs that you won’t get out of your head or even move your body to the flamenco or sevillanas rhythm. In all these activities the diversion is guaranteed.

Karaoke Interlenguis

Would you like to practice Spanish by singing? Karaoke InterLenguis is your perfect activity.

InterLenguis has a library of songs in karaoke format to practice and learn vocabulary through songs. Weekly, the school organizes a Karaoke afternoon in which students enjoy singing major Spanish and Latino American successes, apart from typical and traditional songs. Demonstrate your artistic skills in InterLenguis Karaoke.

Photographic Gymkhana

Would you like to be the winner of the Photographic Gymkhana? You just have to follow the steps that are indicated in each of the hints or questions.

Become friends with an ordinary Spaniard to help you overcome all the tests that InterLenguis puts before you. In this activity you will have to recorder a Spanish person singing a typical Spanish song, dancing a regional dance or take pictures to the most unexplored place that the hints indicate you. Take your camera or smart phone and come to enjoy this activity!

Dancing classes

InterLenguis offers you the possibility of learning the basic steps of Latin dances such as bachata, zumba, salsa; or Spanish such as flamenco, sevillanas, dances that are current today and that attract the attention of international students.

Football

Football is one of the most popular sports in Spain. At InterLenguis we offer you this activity aimed at students with knowledge of football or those who are starting from scratch.

During this activity, apart from football championships, students will learn different strategies, sportive exercise and sportive techniques in order to become a great player such as Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

This activity encourages teamwork and teaches how healthy it is to practice any sport.

Climbing

InterLenguis offers you the climbing activity in which you will learn the basic movements of the sport and the different types of climbs explained by professionals.

The facilities count with a rocodrome for sportive climbing, Boulder hall and many other options for guaranteeing your enjoyment. This activity is suitable for all levels and if you have difficulties, professionals will help you to get over them.

Hiking route

Spain is a country that counts with a great number of natural sites in which do hiking routes. With these routes you will discover landscapes that will leave you astonished by walking between mountains or at the edge of streams.

The difficulty of these routes can vary according to the meteorological conditions and the path, but in general, we carry out routes of mid-difficulty so that they can attend the majority of our students. Over the journey there will be a pause for restoring the energy with a typical product of the place for tasting the delicacies of the area.

Bicycle Tour

Bike riding is another way to explore the city while getting exercise. The bicycle routes are carried out along the city, generally using the cycle path.

Bike route is an activity with low difficulty, the tour takes place in a flat ground at a low pace so that all students can follow it. With bike routes you will discover the most romantic and mysterious city and all the secrets that are hidden in its most famous buildings.

During the route we will do a break to recover energies with typical products of the city.

Table games

You can put your Spanish into practice by playing table games with international students.

InterLenguis has a wide variety of games: games about general knowledge, skills, ingenuity, drawing, guessing… Choose the one you like the most and find a group to play with.

Swimming pool afternoon

Going to the swimming pool is the best way of spending the hot afternoons in Spain, you will enjoy playing with your colleagues to cards, sunbathing or swimming. In winter you can also go to heated pools in Spain and practice your swimming abilities and thus, relax from your Spanish classes.

Guitar lessons

The guitar is a Spanish characteristic instrument. There are many varieties of guitar modalities, the most known are the electric guitar and the Spanish guitar, also known as flamenca guitar, used for accompanying the flamenco dance and singing. If you want to learn to play the guitar InterLenguis offers you guitar classes periodically.

Over the classes you will learn how to tune the guitar, basic chords, read the tablatures and finally play a song. With these guitar classes you will be a star playing Spanish songs.

Gastronomic activities

Spain enchants students with its gastronomy. With InterLenguis you will discover the typical dishes of the land and you will be able to taste its exquisite delicacies such as ham or good wine.

Furthermore, Spain is a country full of bars, restaurants, and cafes. If you want to get to know the different hospitality places, sign up for the InterLenguis tapas routes.

Winery visit

Spain is a place of good wines with a great amount of vineyards and wineries, hot spot for foreigners that visit our country. InterLenguis periodically visits wineries so that students learn about the wine-making process.

By the end of the visit, students will taste different wines and if you like any don’t doubt in buying it.

Thematic snack

In Spain, 5 daily meals are carried out: breakfast, snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. The afternoon snack is a typical Spanish meal that it is taken around 17h30 for recover forces until dinner.

InterLenguis organizes themed snacks so that students can taste typical Spanish products while having fun dressing up as a specific theme chosen by everyone at school.

Tapas Tour

Once a week, InterLenguis carries out a tapas route through the bar area. This route is recommended for all students that want to enjoy the Spanish gastronomy and in particular, tapas accompanied by typical drink such as sangria, tinto wine or mosto for under age students.

We have different routes, depending on the students’ tastes we will do one or another visiting diverse bars each route.

This activity is perfect for chatting and meeting new people in a pure Spanish environment.

The cut of ham

The ham is the star product in the Spanish gastronomy. For example, in Salamanca, we have the Guijuelo ham, one of the most leading products in the Spanish trade and it is very commercialized abroad.

The ham is characterized by its cut, which has to be made by a professional cutter. InterLenguis accompanies you to witness the cutting of ham and to try it.

Chocolate with churros

Chocolate with churros is a dish of the Spanish gastronomy. As its name indicates, is a dish composed by a cup of hot chocolate and churros accompanying, Spanish typical sweet. If you don’t like the chocolate you can have a coffee with churros.

Chocolate with churros is usually consumed as breakfast or even as a snack generally in the cold winter months. If it is taken at the snack time, a social meeting is created in which you can chat tasting this typical Spanish product.

Workshops

InterLenguis has designed its program of activities to delve into the cultural and historical aspects of our country, but it has also proposed workshops for you to enjoy, have fun and interact with your classmates, friends or even with teachers demonstrating your artistic and culinary skills.

With our cooking and press workshops you will be able to dazzle your colleagues with your imagination, your skills and abilities.

Cooking workshop

Do you love cooking and want to learn how to make typical Spanish dishes?

If you want to be a chef of Spanish gastronomy, do not hesitate to attend the InterLenguis cooking workshop where you will learn to cook delicious Spanish dishes, and at the same time you will learn vocabulary related to gastronomy. At the end of each workshop you will taste the dishes made.

Press workshop

If you want to be informed about the news in Spain, InterLenguis offers you the press workshop in which our teachers will explain the parts of a journalistic text, teach you how to write a news story and comment on it.

In each workshop a news item of interest to the students will be chosen and a debate will be opened to expose the ideas and points of view of each of the students. Additionally, in this workshop we will make our own InterLenguis newspaper.

Trips

At InterLenguis, every Saturday there is an excursion to a city or town of cultural interest in which to discover a new environment, visit monuments and museums and taste typical dishes from the area.

The excursions organized by InterLenguis include: private transportation, entrance fees to the monuments to be visited, as well as the company of the teacher who will make the pertinent explanations on each of the visits.

Before the trip an informative pamphlet of the route will be hand over.

One Day-trips

AVÍLA: This medieval city is characterized for its wall, a popular tourist destination, its cathedral, and among others.

SEGOVIA: It is a city of contrasts in which you will find a medieval and Jewish environment. Segovia is known for its aqueduct, but we should not miss the Cathedral y the Alcázar.

MADRID: Madrid, the capital of Spain, offers countless places to visit or corners to discover.

LA ALBERCA: A beautiful medieval town, 60km far from Salamanca, located in the Sierra de Francia region.

CANDELARIO: Town declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1975 which belongs to the range of Bejar, 80km far from Salamanca.

Two days trip

LEÓN: León stands out for its religious architecture since it contains numerous churches and cathedrals. The Gothic-style cathedral of León and its emblematic stained glass windows, the Romanesque basilica of San Isidro, are of reference.

BURGOS: The city of Burgos stands out principally for its medieval architecture. In this visit, you will discover the gothic cathedral of Santa María, the most famous monument, declared Heritage of Humanity.

TOLEDO: Toledo, declared Heritage of Humanity City, is known as the city of the three cultures for its Jewish, Arabian and Christian mixture which is reflected in the Cristo de la Cruz Mosque, the Santa María de la Blanca and the Transit Synagogue.

Three days trip

PORTUGAL: Portugal is a country located in the South-West of Europe, a transcontinental country with a good climate throughout nearly the whole year and with a varied and exquisite gastronomy.

GALICIA-ASTORGA-LEÓN: Galicia stands out for being one of the communities with more forest mass, beautiful mountain landscapes and a great amount of cliffs and rocky areas.

EL ESCORIAL-MADRID-TOLEDO: The Royal Monastery of the Escorial is composed by a Royal Palace, a Basilica, a pantheon, a school, a library and a monastery, which stands out for its architectonic patrimony and historic reference, and it is located a few kilometers far for Madrid, where the visit is compulsory and the life, actuality and modernity are presents.

Five days trip

GRANADA: Granada is considered as one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and is one of the principal current touristic destinations. The beauty of the Alhambra is unquestionable, since it is considered to be one of the Wonder of the World.

SEVILLA: This city stands out for its climate and blue sky, the streets full of art and happiness that takes you to places and monuments worth visiting.

BARCELONA: Discover the great city from the Gothic Quarter to the picturesque Raval or one of the trendy quarters: the Borne. Enjoy the architecture and the culture. You cannot miss the majestic Sagrada Familia, a Basilica that was constructed from 1882 and it is expected to be finished in 2026.

These are some of our destinations. However, if any group wish to visit any other place, can communicate it to the school and we will try to do everything possible to carry out your wish trip.

Trips
